It is aimed at celebrating the significance of microorganisms while transmitting scientific knowledge and fundamental human values in an engaging and entertaining manner.
The project is the brainchild of biologist Antton Alberdi from the University of Copenhagen, developed through a dynamic collaboration between Lotura Films and the publisher Elkar.
With a commitment to enriching knowledge and fostering curiosity, "The Invisibles" offers a thrilling and educational experience that celebrates the marvels of the microcosm. CHARACTERS
PLASMA
Plasma is the oldest and grumpiest of the Invisibles.
Conservative and cantankerous, he is vehemently opposed to change of any kind. He gets angry about anything and everything. However, he is fiercely loyal to the team and if anything ever threatens his friends, he would go to any lengths to defend and protect them.
ILUS
Ilus is the outsider of the group. She is a dreamer with a vivid imagination, always up for a bit of fun. She lives in a world of her own and is always imagining the future, causing the others to make fun of her. She has moments of inspiration when she almost seems clairvoyant and often gets the team out of a scrape by
quoting from modern science.
FLIN
Flin is one of the Invisibles’ friends. She is large, sensitive, affable and kind. When it is dark, she speaks very slowly and always seems to be on the verge of falling asleep. When there is light, however, she is lively and full of energy, and her speech speeds up too.
PELI
Peli is rational, relentlessly logical and controlling. When faced with even the tiniest doubt, he heads straight for a book. He finds it hard to deviate from the established plan and gets very nervous and tends to freeze when the others start to improvise.
META
Meta is jittery, pessimistic and a bit of a whiner. Whenever he gets scared, he breaks wind non-stop.
Although usually long and skinny, whenever he gets hot, Meta is transformed in both appearance and character,
becoming stronger and braver. He changes colour and becomes more muscular too. Sometimes, the Invisibles get him hot on purpose in order to make him brave. Then, when he gets too cocky, they douse him in cold water to turn him back into his former self.
ANTHRAX
Anthrax is the antagonist of the show. His greatest desire is to take over the world and all its resources. He moves around in a capsule made from metal and glass, even though it often breaks down just when he needs it the most.
ARI
Ari is smart and optimistic, but hopelessly chaotic. She loves all things technological and is constantly coming up with bright ideas for new machines and devices. She is often impulsive.
FAGO
Fago is astute and mischievous. She doesn’t talk but conveys what she is feeling very clearly.
THE SHIGELLA
The Shigella are Anthrax’s minions; they follow him around everywhere. They are fun-loving, playful creatures who often misunderstand Anthrax’s commands, causing no end of trouble for him and upsetting his plans.
MARGARITA
Margarita is the Luminis’ pilot and mechanic, as well as the team’s muscle. She can be gruff and has a tendency to shout rather than talk, but she is also very sensitive and always willing to help. She loves rock music and never lets anyone else near the Luminis’ radio. Her first instinct is always to solve problems using brute force, but more often than not, this only creates more headaches for her.
BIBI
Bibi is another of the Invisibles’ friends. He is a total chatterbox and heaps of fun. He likes to change the way he looks and has a huge collection of accessories and disguises. He adores dressing up. He has the ability to create light, and is therefore obsessed with brightness.
